Non-ELS

Now that you know how to add your vehicle to your server and make it FiveM-ready, here's how to make sure a Non-ELS vehicle works correctly. This is more of a tips & tricks guide rather than a full tutorial, as making a vehicle Non-ELS from scratch is a lengthy process.

What is Non-ELS?

If you're more than just a casual FiveM player, you've probably heard of ELS and Non-ELS. Let's go over the difference between the two.

ELS vs Non-ELS

On the surface they may look the same, but they are very different — and they cannot be used at the same time.

ELS vehicles use extras for their lightbars. These extras can be toggled on or off — think of it like a picture of a light that switches between on and off states to simulate flashing. That's essentially how ELS works.

Non-ELS vehicles use actual siren models such as siren_1, siren_2, siren_3, and siren_4. These are real light models that blink according to the configurations defined in your carcols.meta and carvariations.meta files.

info

The core difference between ELS and Non-ELS is how their lights are controlled and how they flash. One uses toggled extras, the other uses physical siren models with meta configurations.
